Not every use of a good thing is good. Steel can build a bridge or a weapon. Words can bless or curse. The same is true of your time, your money, your influence, and your intellect.
God made the world and gave it to us as a gift. But when we twist His gifts for selfish or sinful ends, we’re the ones at fault. The tools aren’t the problem. How we wield them is.
Faithful men examine how they use what they’ve been given—and redirect it all toward God.
Suggestions for the Day
- Look at one major resource in your life (money, time, energy). Are you using it for God or self?
- When tempted to justify a bad decision, ask: Is this how God designed this gift to be used?
- Thank God specifically for something you’ve misused in the past—but now want to use rightly
