The Gift of Difficult People

What if the people who irritate you the most are actually God’s gift to sharpen your soul?

God allows the wicked to remain not just for their sake, but for ours. Without them, we get soft. We stop exercising virtue. We stop standing out.

Let resistance strengthen your resolve. Let conflict build your compassion. And let difficulty remind you that you’re called to be different.

Suggestions for the Day

  • Pray by name for someone who challenges your patience.

  • When provoked, pause. Ask: What would holiness look like in this moment?

  • Instead of venting, bless. Speak well of someone who’s hard to love.
